Burlingame, CA, March 09, 2005 - The Individual
Talent Portfolio (ITP), introduced this week by WorkForce OS
of Burlingame, CA, revolutionizes the efficiency of Talent
Management tools and brings significant cost savings to Human
Resources departments. The ITP is a searchable Portfolio that
assembles a spectrum of talent management tools typically
already in use within an organization: succession planning,
career development, skills and assessment tests, performance
reviews, transcripts, resumes – all these and more can be
included in the ITP.
“As the awareness of pending worker shortages becomes acute at
the executive level, Talent Management initiatives have been
moved to the top of the priority list for many HR
departments,” says Susan Magrino, President and CEO of the
Burlingame, CA-based Talent Management software company. “Many
HR departments already have tools in place, but have no way to
bring the information together in a way that maximizes its
usefulness and efficiency. The Individual Talent Portfolio
does just that.”
The ITP is a web-based, self-service component of the
WorkForce OS Talent Inventory Management (TIMS) product. To
create their Portfolio, employees follow a Wizard to input
detailed information about their accomplishments, goals, work
experience, and skills. Companies then add the appropriate
“cars to the WorkForce OS engine” depending on their business
requirements: tests can be taken and results stored,
transcripts and resumes uploaded, performance reviews
attached, and certifications tracked. Adaptability to the
unique needs of each organization is a key benefit of the ITP.
Ron Wolff, Senior Vice President of Caliper Corporation, a
40-year old global human resources consulting and assessment
firm, confirms the growing focus on Talent Management. “Our
clients are being pressured to devise Talent Management plans,
but in many cases they don’t know where to begin. They
understand the urgency, and they have many of the tools they
need – they just don’t know how to pull it together into a
useful system. Without that foundation, it’s difficult to
establish a realistic workforce strategy.”
