Burlingame, CA, June 4, 2004/PRNewswire/ - WorkForce
OS announced today the introduction of their long-awaited
Talent Inventory Management System, TIMS. By focusing on talent
retention, TIMS adds immediate value for companies involved
with Mergers and Acquisitions, Restructuring, and Succession
Planning. "We realize that retaining an organization's
most valuable asset, their workforce, is both critical and
daunting for managers," states Susan Magrino, President
of WorkForce OS. "That's why we designed TIMS as a self-service,
configurable environment for employees and managers. Virtually
everything within the talent pool can be inventoried, including
tests, certifications and project history."
TIMS allows companies, from the Fortune 500 to emerging enterprises,
to inventory and track internal talent and make the best hiring
decisions to support their business needs. "As the job
market improves, companies need to understand and value every
aspect of an individual. Everything from the languages an
employee speaks to their commuting preferences should be understood."
Magrino continued, "After all, the value of a company
is based on its intellectual capital - its people."
"We have known for years that changes in workforce demographics
would make tracking workforce skills and capabilities critical.
However, the high unemployment rate over the past several
years reduced the urgency," comments Harriet Kass, Policy
Consultant, John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development,
Rutgers State University of New Jersey. "Now that the
employment market appears to be improving, organizations must
ask themselves if they really know what talent they have -
do they have an inventory of their workforce?"
As the Labor Department's monthly Job Report continues to
improve, TIMS will become even more relevant for talent retention.
"If companies don't know who works for them," Magrino
adds," they can be sure their competitors will. The skills
they need tomorrow might have walked out the door today."
Based on .NET architecture using Oracle 9i, TIMS interfaces
with current HRIS systems, integrates within an employee portal,
or functions as an independent Talent Inventory tool. TIMS
is a member of the WorkForce OS suite of self-service products.
